On May 11th , LaGeS organized a study tour to Milan, attended by the international students enrolled in the Master in Urban Analysis and Management as well as the ones enrolled in the Master Degree in Geography, Spatial Management, Heritage for International Cooperation and by Burmese students participating in the Erasmus + program carried out in collaboration with the University of Mandalay. Thanks to the guidance of a local expert, dr. Giacomo Pettenati, during the visit it has been possible to appreciate particularly significant moments in the urban history of the city of Milan, the major recent urban development interventions (such as the Piazza Gae Aulenti or the vertical wood of Porta Nuova) as well as interesting forms of “resistance” to protect urban space as a common good (eg. the Pepe Verde Island).
