On May 30th, a study meeting was held at the Aula Magna of the SAGAS “Womens and public spaces: needs, actions and policies in the Middle East cities”. The event provided Mirella Loda (geographer), Monica Pacini (historian) and Mario Tartaglia (transport engineer) an opportunity to talk with Anna Vanzan, a deep connoisseur of Islamic countries, and in particular Iran, on the relationship that women entertain with the public space in Islamic cities, and how this relationship has been transformed according to the most significant upheavals in the recent historical-political framework. The questions and answers sessions also included the contribution of a group of Afghan students currently staying at the SAGAS for study purposes.
