Study of Philosophy and Political Science in Berlin, PhD in Political Science at the European University Institute in Florence/Italy, at present full time professor for Romance Literatures and Intercultural Studies at Passau University/Germany the leading German university in the field of Intercultural Studies. His research interests lie in the fields of Political Rhetoric, concepts of the Public in Western and Eastern cultures and psychoanalytical approaches to culture in which he has published nine books, two translations plus numerous articles in national and international journals. He has accomplished long term field works at Isfahan/Iran and Herat/Afghanistan Universities. Within the framework of the LaGes-projects he has contributed with inquiries on local Intangible Cultural Heritage.
