Title Herat Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan

Project goals Mobility and accessibility are two prerogatives in promoting an improvement of the quality of life in the city. The Herat Sustainable Mobility Plan is the result of a long and intense partnership between the University of Florence LaGeS and the University of Herat, the Ministry of Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Municipal Council of Herat. The plan is the first implementation of the Herat Strategic Masterplan and aims to provide a transport system and a culture of mobility that support Herat’s sustainable growth, while safeguarding environmental and cultural resources, strengthening social cohesion, and contributing to a better quality of urban life.
