promotion<\/li>\n<li>Agri-food supply chains, food and cities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On these and other subjects, LaGeS conducts the following national and international research activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analysis of regional dynamics and socio-economic changes, at the urban and regional scale<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative and qualitative field research and production of socio-geographic data<\/li>\n<li>Statistical processing of socio-geographic data<\/li>\n<li>Digital map production and GIS spatial analysis<\/li>\n<li>3D Spatial data modeling<\/li>\n<li>Big data and sentiment analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Urban and territorial planning<\/h3>\n<p>LaGeS boasts solid experience in developing urban and regional plans, using a sectorial approach (mobility, accessibility, transport and tourism plans) as well as a transversal approach (sustainable development, spatial and regional redevelopment, regeneration and reuse plans), in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Development and enhancement of regional resources<\/li>\n<li>International cooperation and development<\/li>\n<li>Management, protection and enhancement of the cultural tangible and intangible heritage<\/li>\n<li>Transport and sustainable mobility<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable tourism<\/li>\n<li>Urban strategic planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Education and training<\/h3>\n<p>LaGeS has developed several education and training programs, targeted especially toward public officials and employees, in Italy and abroad, covering the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Methods and tools for socio-regional analysis<\/li>\n<li>Statistical software and geographic information systems (GIS)<\/li>\n<li>Urban analysis and planning<\/li>\n<li>Geography, sustainable transport and mobility planning<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable development, environment and regional policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The LaGeS also contributes to the delivery of teaching in the following courses at the University of Florence:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced course: Recognition and protection of cultural heritage in crisis contexts<\/li>\n<li>Urban Geography I: Theories and Methods (Master&#8217;s degree in Geography, Spatial Management, Heritage for International
