Project goals

Affected by a complex process of political, social and economic transition, in the next few years Myanmar is destined to become an increasingly attractive tourist destination, in view of the extraordinary historical cultural and environmental heritage it can offer to international tourists. The Sustainable Destination Plan developed by LaGeS aims to promote tourism in the district of the Ancient Cities of Upper Myanmar (ACUM) in a perspective of economic and social sustainability. In particular, it aims to protect and enhance and area’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
